They both use the same size case. I bought a case for a newer L-6S, with a slight modification, it fit perfectly & protected the guitar better than the ‘70s case.

Newer L-6S case I bought for my ‘73 L-5S……… I think I had to add 3/4” of styrofoam under the body to get it to lay flat.

I have a Cedar Creek case that a guy sold me for my 1978 L5s. He had it custom made, but it was just lying around after he sold his L5s.

My original case, although in good shape cosmetically, smells like an old basement (and yes, I tried everything to get rid of that smell, to no avail). So I put it into storage, just in case I ever sell this one, and the buyer wants the original case to go with it. Seriously though, I will probably never sell it!

This new case is a beauty, with a western leaf scroll pattern, great padding, sturdy gold hardware, and it fits like a glove with a good size accessory pocket.
