Is it just me or do the Fender guitars seem much better value than Gibson's at the show?

There's a couple there I'd really like.

Any idea who had the 63 Tele at 23k?

There's one for $24k next to a '54 gold top. Is that what you are referring to? If so it's probably Farmhouse Guitars of Plano, Texas.

Thanks again 4string, that's alwaus a pleasure to enjoy the ride through your photo reportage :salude
Btw, do you remember more about that "1986" maple sunburst strat "with 50's pickups" that looks to be in the Kentucky Vintage guitars booth? $4500? Is that a "mutt" of some sort?

Just the pickups were from the 1950's. Everything else is from the 1986 guitar is what the guy at the booth said.

John, I'm sure you know about it, but Richard's got a 64 spec refin from his own collection for sale.

I hope that doesn't put me at odds with the prevailing wind here; seems OK to highlight dealers guitars at the show, but apparently it's deemed inappropriate for a member here to place a classified ad for a privately owned guitar, specifically highlighted as a non commercial stock item.

Same old, same old.

Looks like a cool guitar, but refin's aren't really my thing. I'm gassing for a custom colour rosewood board Tele and a custom colour Strat.....but they're so few and far between.

Just a guess ... Best Guitars in New York.

Tom is correct - Best Guitars of New York. I spent a five hour flight to Hawaii this morning trying to recall that while surrounded by screaming crying infants. Had I looked at the business cards on the table in the photo last night I would have recognized that. :##

Normally I try to include a photo of the dealer's name. Missed it on tis one.

Same old, same old.

It is inappropriate when that "privately owned" guitar is on the dealer's website and on the dealer's mailing list, and is indistinguishable from any of the dealer's other commercial stock items. If the "same old, same old" is asking members to follow the rules, then we are guilty as charged.:jim

I've made my point, and I'll let it go at that.

I missed it. Did you or someone else "post a classified ad" here at the LPF for this guitar? :hmm

Richard posted an ad in the Forum Members Classified specifically stating that it wasn't part of his dealing stock, and was a privately owned guitar of his that he was selling.

The ad was removed.

It's an irrelevance really, the guitar has been sold elsewhere.

Rules are rules I suppose.
