Well the Korina Hamer arrived , absolutely flawless .. never played! After a fresh set of strings and quick setup she's really quite special. Rich and sweet clean , and a snarly dawg with high gain.

1984 Aria RS partscaster, cobbled together with a lefty neck. Matsumoku goodness. Radius flattened to 10", 6000 frets, Lace Sensors with CTS pots, Oak Grigsby switch, Puretone jack. Better quality trem. Cheap thrills for low bills.

😅
If you notice, it's a selfie.
I was sitting on the couch playing it a few hours after I got it and a friend texted me, "Ever own a LP Special?"
So I sent him that pic.
I'm really digging it.
I thought I had the mahogany and P90 thing covered with a '65 Firebird III, but I think I actually like this '22 Special better.

Well the Korina Santana just arrived , somebody wired a Coil Tap .. nice addition . This baby is BRIGHT and like my other all Korina sustains forever

I spent a day dialing it in with various amps and my pedal board.

It can be RUDE if you want, Thick and creamy no worries , the more gain the bigger the smile.

Hit the tap and clean she'll run with any single coil , the great chime of Korina adds to it in spades.

After setting up she's VERY hard to put down ..not so much that she's new , just plays SO well , and has the perfect tone for my ears. At first the wood looked boring, but after playing it I noticed the grain from the players view is really quite awesome .. just subtle.

I'd love to do a tangerine sunburst on it .. but I'll save that for another less rare beastLuna.jpg

I got this 1988 Guild X170 a few days ago! All original except the ABR bridge (the original wood bridge is in the case pocket). This guitar looks brand new and it's 36 years old!

I love the original HB1 pickups. For me, they me are the perfect pickup. The neck pickup has remarkable clarity and the bridge pickup ROCKs! This one also has ridiculously low action with a dead straight neck and perfect frets!

This is my second one, I also have that's one year older in sunburst (non trem), which is also killer and sees a lot of gigs. These X170s are GREAT rock guitars as they can handle extreme high volume. There is a substancial block of wood joining the top and back under the bridge, so they don't have the runaway feedback associated wth hollow archtops.

Here's my 1987 non trem model with the stock wood bridge...
