After doing a bit more research on used guitars that have sold, it sounds like the body’s are somewhat hollow. This will make routing much easier but it might cause other issues. Time will tell………
I imagine your back and shoulder will be quite glad for the weight reduction that comes with it.

The construction will also most likely enhance the sound of the sympathetic strings. I imagine with single coils it would sound quite magnificent if the bridge is of quality and the top and back are coupled well. It should be quite resonant

Change of plans. They ended up with both black & red versions of this guitar in stock. I agreed to take the black one. Even though the sunburst did look Teisco like, the black should be easier to touch up if necessary. This will be on its way in a few days vs a few months….

The Dirty blond is getting some White Paf replicas as soon as I dig out the solder iron. Three killer guitars those kind that kind of tell you.... Hey you mother lover if you cannot do it here you cannot do it on anything else either....

It showed up yesterday, it’s sort of an awkward beast. Should be a good project guitar.

while not exactly "new" these two are most recent as playable guitars in my stash.

1957 style Strat, Licensed Fender soft V, wide nut. Rattle can burst on MIM body converted from three-bolt and reshaped contour to match 50s shape (still haven't seen Fender get it right):
