I really am in the mood for an SG standard in natural burst, I wanted know what is under the pickguard 2 humbucker routes or one big route? I want to know b/c I might want to put p-90's in it one day but want the hb's right now.

Also does anyone have pics of this guitar in natural sunburst?
And does anyone have soundclips of their SG's?
thanks guys

The late 60's one had a "universal route", that allowed for 3 pups (you could fit PP-90s in, no problem). Since P-90's are smaller than HB'ers, I don't see why you'd have a problem with ordinary bucker routes. You'd have to make your own "custom guard" to have it look decent (or find an old large "SG Special" guard).

If you wanted P90s later, you could go with some Rio Grande 'bastards' - I've got a (hot) fat bastard in my Les Paul CP and like it alot once I got the height 'just right' :dude

Or you could put Gibson P94's in it. I know where you could find some for a great price (hint, hint). ;)

Though my '69 Special had a universal two pickup rout, I did the bad thang and swapped the P90's for a pair of T tops.

Oh the shame!

I have heard GREAT things about the Rio Grande P-90s. Talk with Greg at BCR Music....

you'd have to use p94s, they are routed for HBs and 90s are wider. also, they look nice in that natural burst, but the limited edition ones are three piece bodies. gee whiz and they make you pay extra. figures
