• THIS IS THE 25th ANNIVERSARY YEAR FOR THE LES PAUL FORUM! PLEASE CELEBRATE WITH US AND SUPPORT US WITH A DONATION TO KEEP US GOING! We've made a large financial investment to convert the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and recently moved to a new hosting platform. We also have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
  • WE HAVE MOVED THE LES PAUL FORUM TO A NEW HOSTING PROVIDER! Let us know how it is going! Many thanks, Mike Slubowski, Admin
  • Please support our Les Paul Forum Sponsors with your business - Gary's Classic Guitars, Wildwood Guitars, Chicago Music Exchange, Reverb.com, Throbak.com and True Vintage Guitar. From personal experience doing business with all of them, they are first class organizations. Thank you!

  • Hello Mat...are we going to see an ebony Les Paul Deluxe added for 2024? I couldn't afford one back in the 80's...now I have some coin that's burning a hole in my pocket...
Hi Mat, what are the dimensions on the PRPG-050 Historic pickguard? Need to know pickup spacing, etc. Also, can you describe the color, are they yellowish, tan or? Hard to tell from online pics. Thanks!
Matt I recently purchased an Epiphone Billy Joe Armstrong LPJ. The tone is really thin and i have adjusted the P90 up and down and sideways and can not get a good tone can you recommend a good P90 to replace it with ? Thanks
    Hey Mat!

    Greetings!

I have a very simple question: Does Epiphone have an ACTUAL, PHYSICAL, Custom Shop in Nashville or Overseas?

I am under the impression that they DO NOT have a physical location and that the Epiphone Guitars labeled 'Custom " are made in China with different finishes, pickups, etc.

    Thanks in advance!

Hi Bob! I'm not sure what Epiphone you are referring to...we do have some Epiphone "Inspired by Gibson Custom Shop" models made overseas that were designed and spec'd in collaboration with the Custom Shop team (and myself). But our Epiphone factory in China operates very similarly to what we are doing stateside and we are looking to grow our abilities with highly ornate guitars and even aging.
I have a Gibson Les Paul "Jeff Beck" R4 without the mounting ring cutout for easier string changes... any idea where I can get one?

    Mat,

I could not find your gibson.com email or a number to reach you in Nashville. I was wondering if you could have someone dig into the magic ledgers for 1965 and see if my pelham blue SG standard is indexed? She is stamped 519707.

    Thanks for your help!
I was pointed in your direction.

But any details you could give me would be much appreciated; is it a special color run? how many were made? what type of fretboard, pickups? what finish is it? is it ivory, or aged alpine white or whatever?

Anything and everything that you could tell me would be helpful. It's a beautiful guitar.

    Thank you!
