THIS IS THE 25th ANNIVERSARY YEAR FOR THE LES PAUL FORUM! PLEASE CELEBRATE WITH US AND SUPPORT US WITH A DONATION TO KEEP US GOING!
We've made a large financial investment to convert the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and recently moved to a new hosting platform. We also have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
Please support our Les Paul Forum Sponsors with your business - Gary's Classic Guitars, Wildwood Guitars, Chicago Music Exchange, Reverb.com, Throbak.com and True Vintage Guitar. From personal experience doing business with all of them, they are first class organizations. Thank you!
It reminds me of this one!
If you were a young guitar nerd back in the late '80s and early '90s, you tuned in every Saturday night to see what G.E. was slinging!
(I'm pretty sure that double-pick guard ES345 (1959, black Varitone ring) guitar is 80% of the reason why I hunted down my own 1959 ES345 so many years ago.)
Heartening to know I wasn't the only one with that particular malady!
...
Steve Howe also uses a double-guard ES

Someone on LPF posted this one quite a bit back:
...
Bernie Marsden owned this factory double-guard sunburst J-200 with a unique double-pickguard emblazoned with the name of Dewey Dillon, which was commission by Dewey's mother for his 21st birthday, in 1959!
