I have an old 1968 Gibson ledger pic that shows a small range of 899XXX guitars that shipped in 1968. I'd love to have the pic of the page with my LPC on it. Does anyone have ledgers pics they are will to share with me for my research?

Cheers :salude

Hey Bryan!

The ledger exists, but they no longer "do requests" for scans. I looked through what I have, and unfortunately I do not have either of your serials, sorry!

Hi Bryan.
I have a 1968 Gold Top. Serial #975324.
Does it show in your ledger pic?
Robbo.

I purchased a beautiful 68 gold top last year. Serial #522XXX. I was born in late 68 and would love to know how close to my birthday this beaut was shipped out. I looked around, but could not find any shipping ledgers or information for the #522XXX serial numbers. Can anyone help? Will Gibson employees still assist with a look up if I write them...

By all means, send Gibson customer service an email. They told me my shipping date for my 1963 Les Paul Junior. ( they didn't scan the ledger for me though)
Its a bit hit and miss these days. I think it might depend on how busy they are.

I found a pic of a ledger page with a few 899xxx serial numbers including several Les Paul Customs. The pic is on the Heritage Auctions website with a 899xxx guitar they are selling. Supposedly one of the 1968 NAMM Les Pauls that went out on display for that show. I’m looking for a ledger pic of my goldtop serial number 529xxx that shipped mid January 1969. Oddly shipped out after a slew of 530,531, and 532 Les Pauls went out.

She is 100% original all parts and with excellent original frets. Also with the original square hard softcase. About the case in 1968, that's was stock of Firebird hardcase in stock at Kalamazoo but used for new LP 1968 fist reissue. NOTA: in year 2014 i saw a beautifull 68 LP gold top with S/N 522XXX.

It’s interesting how many of the 531xxx serial numbered Les Paul goldtops went out in the first week of January 1969. I have a 529xxx that shipped 1/14/1969 from Gibson at the time. Not sure if they built and temporarily stored the completed guitars in the stock room prior to obtaining orders and shipping them out? Do you have shipping manifest scans for any of the 529xxx serialized guitars?

A Gibson customer rep got back to me a said that he doesn’t have access to the ledgers and Gibson does not provide this type of service…
