Hey everyone, would a 1968 SG have a Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard?

They did a small run of Historic LP's / Gary Rossington SG in the first half of 2003, but in between I don't think.

Sounds awesome. There are so many folks doing wonderful finishes these days, so please show it to us when you get it back.

Thanks, will do!

Also, this one has patent number sticker pickups with no “T” on the bobbins from what I recall.

Are these pre-T Tops?

Thanks!

I finally got it back, after nearly a whole year!! I couldn’t remember how it played and I never plugged it in, but I was blown away by it. Crunchy, punchy and very thick sounding!!! Played it through a Fender amp at the shop when I picked it up, the. Through a cranked JMP 2203 with a 412 - it is probably one of the best guitars I now own!IMG_2491.jpegIMG_2492.jpegIMG_2495.jpegIMG_2497.jpegIMG_2498.jpegIMG_2500.jpegIMG_2501.jpegIMG_2498.jpegIMG_2500.jpegIMG_2501.jpegIMG_2502.jpegIMG_2503.jpegIMG_2504.jpeg

is that a "pencil neck" version. '68 could have one of two nut widths. The end of the skinny neck.

Fantastic result. Most vintage examples I've seen have drastically 'browned out' so it's throwing me off a bit to see one like this 'very cherry' but still vintage-y.

Check out Gary Louris of The Jayhawks, he's used one like this from 67 as his primary guitar throughout their history and gets great sounds coming out!

Thanks! Yeah, this thing was pretty walnut looking and poorly refinished before I got it… Super happy with the result.
