Hey everyone, would a 1968 SG have a Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard?
Highly unlikely I think, as Gibson stopped using BR in the course of '65 IIRC.Hey everyone, would a 1968 SG have a Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard?
Agreed!Don't sweat it.
A hundred hours of wood shedding is better than all the Brazilian boards on earth.
Sounds awesome. There are so many folks doing wonderful finishes these days, so please show it to us when you get it back.... I’m getting a ‘68 in a few weeks (refin of a bad refin) ....

I don’t know! I will go measure it shortly and tell youis that a "pencil neck" version. '68 could have one of two nut widths. The end of the skinny neck.
Thanks! Yeah, this thing was pretty walnut looking and poorly refinished before I got it… Super happy with the result.Fantastic result. Most vintage examples I've seen have drastically 'browned out' so it's throwing me off a bit to see one like this 'very cherry' but still vintage-y.
Check out Gary Louris of The Jayhawks, he's used one like this from 67 as his primary guitar throughout their history and gets great sounds coming out!
