Goldtops are going for 200k these days???

I’ve long harbored the aspiration of getting a golden age LP - and always figured it would need to be a goldtop to be in the realm of possibility…but i always thought 100-125k!

100k was awhile ago. Thet train has sailed.

But 200k for non-mint guitar with a repaired finish does seem a bit crazy.

PAF equipped Goldtops w/issues: 200K+ .... oUCH!

Wonder how much a 50's P90 Goldtop with ABR bridge is worth these days?

The debt clock is at $36,355,510,000,000. And going up by a million every minute.
There's gonna be a correction alright.

That seems insane. Wonder if we are headed for a correction
I've thought for years that as the boomers died off we'd see a correction because there would be way less interest in these old guitars, but in recent years I've seen a lot of younger people buying them as investment vehicles so I'm less confident in my previous assessment. I was hoping they'd come down at some point so I could finally buy a vintage guitar without taking out a second mortgage!

I paid $5000 for my '59 'burst in 1983 which at that time was all the money in (my) world. I was able to pay for it with a bank check but it left me with all of $8.00 in my savings account 😬😄

You guys are trying to put logic into perceived value. It is not that they are worth that much, it is that people are willing to spend that much to own them.

Everyone likes to use the saying "something is only worth what people are willing to pay". Well regarding collectable guitars people have been very willing to open their wallets to have these pieces of history.
