Mike, am I remembering correctly that the Goldtop has a mahogany top and a PAF that measures nearly 10k?
I'm sure I'm wrong. I usually am.
As for the triple p/u Customs, I believe the middle p/u was never wired out of phase as that never appeared in any description of the guitar at the time. I believe that unique tone is due to the proximity effect of the middle and bridge being so close together.

Beautiful trio of Lesters as usual. (y)

The 57 humbucker is one of the all mahogany versions. Can’t remember the pickup measurements.

as much as I love to look at "fretless wonders" I will never get used to original, low frets.

I had one 1955, and I don't know how many times the already-low frets had then also been dressed before I got it, but it was as if they were PAINTED on. Could not bend a string. And in those days you didn't get re-frets. Or nobody I knew did, anyway.

Why'd I buy it? 'Cause it was otherwise in superb condition and the vintage thing was just starting to happen, though I traded it for an even better one which, of course, I sold. Doh. But one reason I play reissues now is the frets are taller.

Mike - IIRC the 56 Custom I have is one you passed on (I contacted you through the forum asking questions and you knew the one I was considering). This was many years ago, II believe before you picked up the '57. I love it and never regretted the purchase, but after working with it for about a year I resorted to a re-fret with modern wire. Much easier to play after, and my hands didn't get so tired squeezing for a grip on the strings.

Really beautiful guitars...
