FYI...if you are looking for a project guitar. I have enough to keep me busy and I thought someone here might benefit.
Overall - not a bad starting point for a husk with original finish - has amateur routing to install a humbucker. Check the pricing...it's close to fair market value.
Guitar located at Guitar Center in Bridgeton MO. On their website, search for 'les paul mods'.
Here's what I saw when I happened across it a couple of days ago:
61-62 range with the angled tailpiece and SG body style. Store staff say it has the period correct alligator case.
No breaks
Frets in decent shape
Nut looks good and no string buzz from cut too low
The finish looks original but silk screen 'Les Paul Junior' has been buffed off. Red pigment has faded a bit. Not the brown color.
Tuners changed. Originals long gone.
Tailpiece changed to Badass style, original tailpiece long gone
Studs look to be chromed replacements. Originals gone.
Control knobs are 70s style replacements. Originals gone.
Control cavity cover plate missing...but the 4 cover screws are there
Control cavity wiring show amateur buggering and ground wire is snapped off short and not attached.
Store says pots are changed
P-90 long gone and replaced by some kind of coverless humbucker jammed in. Some routing of the pickup cavity. Wood filler packed around pickup.
Addendum....
Forgot to list that pickguard is badly, very badly warped. Edges are lifted away up between screw points.
5 digit Serial number looks like 51916
