I'm a suspicious arse and would never fork out almost 9K AUD to some guy in blighty via the internet. :wah :wah :wah

With the AUD pushing 0.89 USD (or 107 JPY) go look at dealers in the US or Japan.

I'm not too suspicious there, but I am thinking that that guitar is overvalued a little. I have seen similar tops sell for around the 5K mark, and I'm not sure being teh poster guitar makes it worth the extra 3K. I am going to wait until Feb when I am in the US, unless I see something I can't go past. I have had mostly very good experiences buying stuff on ebay in the past.

Oz dollar is awesome at present.

Oh doh! I thought Lola was the chick in the guitar pics and that I could buy her for $7,000 US. Darn, I'm going to have to retract my bid. Was thinking about it anyways...never did see her face. :spabout

Awesome looking guitar nevertheless. Those tops are really insane. Would love one like that if I started an LP collection but I'm actually a vintagey flame top kinda guy. I like the tops that look really old with moderate flaming.

Hey you crazy Australians. I am Australian living in the midwest of the US, and I still own my house in Manly. Man I miss that incredible place. I hope it is still rocking when we get back in a few more years! I really miss a Friday night surf, with $5 in my pocket, a few beers afterwards then go home to get cleaned up before party!

I have been going crazy in the US and have about 30 guitars including 10 lps historics, customs, deluxes etc. Now I am moving into the top end guitars like my 58 lp special, and hopefully in the next day or two a 58 strat and 52 blond tele. All these will be coming to Manly and I would love to show em off!

However the way you guys are starting to bring guitars from the US to Aust is going to bring those prices down. (Which is a good thing)

Both nice, both overpriced, IMO. I'll be surprised if they sell at those levels.
