just listened to this and it's fascinating. Not sure what frequencies where chopped to get those guitars isolated, but judging from what I'm hearing, the rhythm guitar does not sound like a big amp, such as a Marshall. To my ears it sounds like a small amp turned all the way up and the tone control on the guitar turned all the way off. The solo, however, does sound like a bigger amp to me. Very cool.

Hm, farty dead tone. :hmm Good in context with the song as a whole, but terrible tone just separated.

It sounds abit like a uni-vibe.... ?

I wouldn't jump to any conclusions. I don't think the "tone" is anywhere near what is heard on original tracks. Just take a listen to each. It sounds like it has been digitally extracted using some kind of extreme filtering (hence the phasey "univibe" effect. I really don't think this is an example of the producer's reel with isolated tracks like heard on some other classic tracks. Nevertheless, this is a real treat and a lot of "fun" as Billy said IMO. I would love if someone could actually get the masters like what we've heard George Martin do, and isolate actual Clapton, Bruce, Baker, tracks. Would be a mind blower, I think.

Always loved the use of Blue Moon to open the solo and as a direct opposite reference to Sunshine of your Love.. Very Clever young Mr.Eric!!

There is the real isolated track of his solo on "while my guitar gently weeps" floating around. I think I even have it on one of my harddrives. It is really interesting because you can hear that he is just learning the song and finding his way through the arrangement. His playing is a bit insecure in some parts because. Perfectly understandable, because he actually didn't know the song before the session.

One of the YouTube "suggested videos" that showed up on the right after I listened to this track had Clapton's guitar isolated on the Beatles "While My Guitar Gently Weeps." Pretty interesting as well!:salude

Yeah...EC likely did a few passes until he learned it enough to get a decent enough take worth fixing. I can hear punches at 1:51, 2:36 and 3:59. SO he went back and dropped in the solo. And the punched in some of the outro. Great stuff.
