Over the decades I’ve consumed a lot of music, in all genres..
I put songs in the “great” category when they hit deep and effect me emotionally.. which I guess is the fundamental of music..
so with this in mind..
what is the best song in your world that hits “deep” makes you shed a tear, uplifts you, makes you see the best and good in life?
Here’s mine.. and yes it’s a new song.. but I’ve never felt such emotion whenever I hear it.. I honestly shed a small tear each time.. especially when the solo drops.. it’s truly magical 🧙‍♀️
Everything is perfect.. chord progression, instruments, backing vocal and vocal, horns, piano.. it’s all perfection!

Yep, that’s a great one. It is the third song they play here. This performance sounds great to me. If you like Tedechi Trucks, you should like this.

This is the one that does it for me. Perhaps it is the performance as well. It is Hendrix’s live version of Hear My Train off of Rainbow Bridge.

Then I started thinking of Jane's Addiction, Alice in Chains, sooo many Soundgarden songs, then Led Zeppelin, then Sabbath, and now it's snowballing. So those are my two songs, and that's final.

What a mind boggling question, too many to name, the list is high and wide where does it end, the angst and joy of it all, and I sing each and every one (almost) cos they're the faves I learnt when I was a kid and then later on to present day, completely undecided and it'll always remain that way I think........................ let's start with Bye Bye Love, the first song that hit me hard from the radiogram when I was a young'un (y)

Just one smile…. By Randy Newman . Everyone that covers it just kills it

Just a fabulous pop tear jerker

Even Al kooper can sing it and Randy’s own version is his best vocal

But dusty Springfield destroys it
