Before I got my 68 custom, listened to a lot of CCR. There aren’t a ton of clean, undistorted 68 references out there. When I was growing up, CCR was just part of the landscape and I never thought much about them. The sound of those records is amazing when you really listen to them. And his voice! Such a contrast to the slickness of our time.

Very interesting! Now I know what guitar and tuning was on all those songs. I never knew, but then I never played a lot of CCR. See that Kustom amp in the background on the concert footage? I had one of those back in the '70's. Looked like some kind of sleazy lounge sofa thing. I was playing my '68 SG at the time, playing these small venues and community centers in South Eastern Michigan. Thanks for the post!
