Never had a chance to play a Leslie, always loved the sound. A Roto Choir or Rotosphere is all I got.

If I'm being honest, I've been permanently banned from TGP at least 6 times. The over moderated nonsense there and the "other" LP forum is just too much for me. This is the only place I check in on a regular basis these days.
My profile is a homage to our beloved ban happy mod at MLP. The jerk off whines about the slightest hint of political threads yet whores the forum out for paid for political ads.

I almost got banned at TGP around 10 years ago for some silly comment I made. Apparently a sense of humor isn't allowed. Other than looking at the for sale stuff, I hardly ever go there anymore.

I was apparently banned from TGP about an hour ago. One notice says I have been charged with a violation of forum rules for inappropriate behavior. Another notice says I have been banned. Interesting that no information is provided as to exactly which post violated which rule. What exactly is "inappropriate behavior"? There is no way to contact a moderator for further information or to plead your case. Can't even log out. I wonder if I will receive notifications for threads I was watching. Probably not. Oh, well. Less time spent posting there means more time to play my guitars.

That is funny (sic).

I replied to someone today, this is TGP, please check your sense of humor at the door.

And I will not be surprised if I get popped for it. 😋

I got my TGP ban a year or two ago.

First I got a temporary ban (a week or two - I forget). Then, as I went back when the ban was supposed to be done, I was met with a banner telling me I was permanently banned. I could see that I had messages in my TGP inbox, presumably informing me why I was banned, but I couldn’t access them because I was banned.

I thought about which posts of mine could have resulted in a ban, and I had no trouble coming up with about a half dozen contenders off the top of my head… at which point I decided “it’s a fair cop”, and I probably don’t belong there.

I occasionally miss interacting with some of the posters, but my time is better spent elsewhere.

You probably will. They want you to come see their ads even though you are banished

Yes, the "other" forum moderating has gone to shit, power trip hypocrites.
Yeah, i got banned there too. I told the mod his piss ant site was irrelevant in the grand scheme of the internet and I could get the same information from a hundred different places and he needed me to watch his ads more than I needed his forum. All true statements but the butt hurt ensued....

Well, Enthused Digital, LLC owns a slew of guitar/music-oriented forums at this point. There are still some good people involved on TGP...but the level of participation from the owners is gone; one gets the distinct impression that the new corporate owner is only in it for the money and the sense of community has weakened considerably.

I think there is some aspect of the owners getting free labor, the mods work for free....so as long as the mods keep moping up the mess that is knuckle head keyboard warriors on the internet and the ad revenue keeps rolling in, owners don't care if a few good people get rolled up and banned...there will always be new people coming up that don't know anything about gear or les pauls that will create new accounts to backfill member attrition. Imagine having someone like Tom Bukovac that is a part of your site making a perfectly valid case that that the original gear that was "modeled" or copied / simulated will always sound better / more authentic than the model or simulation created.....and you block his participation on your forum? He just finished up up Blake Shelton's new album last week...even if your not into country....uncle Larry (Tom) is a heavy hitter.

Funny thing, I absolutely LOVE his Homeschoolin' vids, his playing on them, his sense of humor, his choice of gear, but I can't stand 99% of the pop country crap he plays on. He's making a living though, and when he tours with people his live stuff is usually great. He was great with Ann Wilson, and I love his stuff with Guthrie Trapp.
